㈜엔에스랩(NSLab Inc,, 대표 김동성)이 국립금오공과대학교 ICT융합특성화연구센터, 미국의 Cognitgo, MMAI(Cognitgo & MetaMonkeyAI, CEO Augustin Gohil)와 국제사업협력을 통해 오프라인 모바일 전자지갑 퓨어월렛을 미국에 출시했다.  

㈜엔에스랩은 국립금오공과대학교 ICT융합특성화연구센터와의 연구 및 메타버스 및 NFT기술 기반으로 2022년에 창업한 스타트업이다. 이번에 미국에서 출시한 모바일 전자 지갑 퓨어월렛(MMAI Pure Wallet)도 ICT융합특성화연구센터와 공동연구를 기반으로 개발한 제품으로써 미국 MMAI社와 개발협력을 통해 개발이 진행됐다. 

기존에 전자화폐, 암호화폐 거래를 위해서는 온라인 상태에서만 거래가 가능하다는 한계점을 가지고 있었다. 이러한 경우 네트워크 장애 또는 네트워크 환경을 보장할 수 없는 격오지, 바다 가운데의 크루즈 여객선 등에서 사용에 제한이 있었다. 지진 등으로 네트워크 환경이 자주 불안정해질 수 있는 일본에서 카드결제 활용도가 낮은 이유이기도 하다.

퓨어월렛은 이러한 한계점을 개선한 모바일 지갑으로 오프라인 환경에서도 거래가 가능한 기능을 보유하고 있다. 즉, 기존의 블록체인 트랜젝션 기술이 온라인 상태에서만 한정됐다면 본 서비스 기술은 오프라인 환경에서도 기존의 트랜젝션 및 소유검증이 가능한 기술을 기반으로 서비스를 제공함으로서 제한된 환경(극한지, 사막, 바다, 통신불가 지역, 네트워크 장애 상황 등)에서도 해당 기술 사용과 서비스를 사용함으로 사용자의 편의성을 증대했다.   

퓨어월렛은 사용자의 디바이스가 오프라인 환경에서 토큰을 소유하고 검증할 수 있게 하고, 블루투스, QR/bar code 이미지 처리 등 디바이스 간의 직접 통신으로 토큰을 주고받으며 거래를 검증할 수 있도록 했다. 또한 온라인 블록체인 지갑에 보유중인 암호화폐를 오프라인 토큰으로 발행하는 알고리즘이 구현된 MMAI PureWallet의 smart contract를 사용해 오프라인 토큰을 발행하고 smart contract의 저장 공간 및 연산량을 최적화하여 각 트랜잭션에 대한 비용(가스피gas fee, 대체불가토큰(NFT))을 최소화했으며 크로스 플랫폼을 활용해 모바일-Android/IOS, 웹-Blink기반/Gecko기반/WebKit기반, 데스크톱-Window/Mac에 대해 확장 가능성 및 구현 용이성을 확보했다. 

㈜엔에스랩은 퓨어월렛의 기술을 활용하면 다양한 분야에서의 결제시스템을 대체 할 수 있으며, 갑작스러운 네트워크 장애 환경에서도 문제없이 대응할 수 있는 강점이 있음을 제시했다. 또한 이를 활용해 쇼핑몰과 같은 결제시스템과 함께 크루즈여객 및 항공권 등의 탑승권, 전자여권, 전자 신분증 등의 활용과 엔터테인먼트, 전시회, 여행, 의료, 상담 등 다양한 분야에 대해 증빙, 거래, 교환 등에 활용할 수 있음을 제시했다. 이를 위해 현재 해외 글로벌 의료 기업과 현재 협의 중이며, 국내 엔터테인먼트 기업과도 K-컬쳐 메타버스 구축을 위해 협의 중인 사항 등 가까운 시기에 해당 사항을 공개하기로 했다.

NSLab Inc. (CEO Dong-Seong Kim) has launched the offline mobile electronic wallet Pure Wallet in the United States through an international business collaboration with the ICT Convergence Specialization Research Center at Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Cognitgo, and MMAI (MetaMonkeyAI, CEO Augustin Gohil).

NSLab, a startup founded in 2022 based on metaverse and NFT technologies, stems from joint research with the ICT Convergence Specialization Research Center. The recently launched MMAI Pure Wallet was developed through collaboration with MMAI and built upon the research foundation of the ICT Convergence Specialization Research Center.

Traditionally, transactions involving electronic and cryptocurrency required an online connection, limiting usability in areas with no network access, such as remote regions, cruise ships at sea, or areas affected by network instability, like Japan during frequent earthquakes. These limitations have reduced the usability of card-based payment systems in such environments.

Pure Wallet overcomes these challenges by enabling transactions even in offline environments. While conventional blockchain transactions are restricted to online conditions, this technology allows for transactions and ownership verification offline, enhancing usability in extreme environments such as deserts, polar regions, seas, and network failure zones.

The wallet enables devices to hold and verify tokens offline, allowing direct communication between devices via Bluetooth or QR/barcode image processing to transfer and authenticate tokens. Additionally, Pure Wallet uses an algorithm integrated into its smart contract to issue offline tokens from online blockchain wallets. This smart contract optimizes storage and computational costs, minimizing transaction fees (such as gas fees and NFT costs). Furthermore, the wallet is designed for cross-platform compatibility, supporting mobile (Android/iOS), web (Blink/Gecko/WebKit-based browsers), and desktop (Windows/Mac), ensuring ease of implementation and scalability.

NSLab highlights that Pure Wallet's technology can replace various payment systems and operate seamlessly in the event of sudden network disruptions. Applications include payment systems for shopping malls, ticketing for cruises and flights, electronic passports, digital IDs, and more. It can also be utilized in diverse fields like entertainment, exhibitions, travel, healthcare, and consulting for validation, transactions, and exchanges. The company is in discussions with global medical firms and domestic entertainment companies to develop solutions, including a K-culture metaverse, with details to be announced soon.
