NSLab Inc. (CEO Dong-Sung Kim) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cognitgo & MetaMonkeyAI (CEO Augustin Gohil) from the United States and Coding Camp (CEO Gabriel Avelino Sampedro) from the Philippines for a metaverse international business collaboration. The signing ceremony took place at the Industry-Academic Cooperation Hall of Kumoh National Institute of Technology.
Founded in 2022, NSLab is a metaverse and NFT technology company built upon the research of the ICT Convergence Specialization Research Center at Kumoh National Institute of Technology. In October of this year, the company secured a $1 million development contract with MetaMonkeyAI for building their metaverse platform.
Following this, NSLab, in collaboration with MetaMonkeyAI, has signed a business agreement with Coding Camp in the Philippines for metaverse commercialization. Additionally, NSLab has also signed an MOU with the ICT Convergence Specialization Research Center for industry-academic collaboration on metaverse research.
This metaverse commercialization agreement focuses on leveraging NSLab's Creativia Metaverse Platform to launch various initiatives in the Philippines. These include education using blockchain technology, virtual shopping malls, K-culture experiences, concerts, and fan meetings within the metaverse environment.
Dong-Sung Kim, CEO of NSLab and Director of the ICT Convergence Specialization Research Center, stated, “This agreement marks a significant step in international cooperation and industry-academic collaboration aimed at expanding into Asian markets. In an environment where various global and large-scale companies are competing in the metaverse platform space, this partnership demonstrates a leap forward for domestic companies in business commercialization and technology development through the metaverse.”
He further added, “At a time when global companies are competing fiercely with their platforms, NSLab is focusing on creating diverse metaverse content businesses that utilize NFT technology, including metaverse-based e-governments, shopping malls, entertainment, and education. Our goal is to provide value to users by connecting the digital world's worth with real-world experiences, thus enriching both realms.”
NSLab also revealed its ongoing efforts to develop metaverse content in a wide range of fields, including entertainment, shopping, exhibitions, travel, healthcare, and consulting. The company is currently in discussions with global medical firms and domestic entertainment companies to build a K-culture metaverse and plans to announce these developments in the near future.
